[Ocfs2-users] CDSL alternative for 1.4?

I am considering an upgrade from 1.2 to 1.4, but at this point there 
is one major roadblock.  I use CDSLs for some software which I 
desired to have a shared installation binaries, libraries, etc., but 
maintain a couple of host-specific items such as configuration files.

I understand why the CDSL feature of 1.2 is not included in 1.4, but 
have yet to figure out some good alternative which gives the same 
results, leaving me tied to the 1.2.x line.  I was curious what 
anyone else has done in this scenario and/or or if there is any 
preferred mechanism to use as a substitute.
