The device you are using (ACNC JetStor for the peanut gallery) has
volume consistency checks you can run from the web interface (and you
can, for instance, regenerate parity data).

Otherwise, we ended up creating files of various sizes (500m, 1g, 2g,
4g) filled with random data, then running md5sum on the files to
determine if the checksum was static.

Unfortunately for us, updating the firmware did not in fact solve our
existing corruption problem, nor did disabling write caches or other
solutions offered by the vendor. Our volume error counts did not go
down until the volumes were recreating on the disk array itself.
