[Ocfs2-users] status of ocfs2

ocfs is evolving to be general purpose so you can do shared home etc.
it will still support also running the database. one could cosider asm
the corporate official product strategy and recommended way to store
actual oracle data. however if customers do not feel like using asm,
ocfs will remain

we have no plans to drop it whatsoever. it should become the complement
of asm. shared root, shared home

Can you comment on this please? Will Oracle dump OCFS in the future and go back to vendor's fs? Or, does Oracle take OCFS as a strategically important piece in the RAC and will continue enhancing it.
