Synopsis: RHBA-2011:1796-1 can now be patched using Ksplice

Systems running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, CentOS 4, and CentOSPlus 4
can now use Ksplice to patch against the latest Red Hat Security
Advisory, RHBA-2011:1796-1.

INSTALLING THE UPDATES

We recommend that all users of Ksplice Uptrack on RHEL 4, CentOS 4,
and CentOSPlus 4 install these updates. You can install these updates
by running:

# /usr/sbin/uptrack-upgrade -y

On systems that have "autoinstall = yes" in /etc/uptrack/uptrack.conf,
these updates will be installed automatically and you do not need to
take any additional action.

DESCRIPTION

* NULL pointer dereference when resetting bnx2 interfaces.

The bnx2 driver did not properly handle certain error conditions when
resetting a NIC, leading to a NULL pointer dereference and kernel
crash.

* Fix flapping in bonding interfaces when traffic is not flowing.

A programming error was discovered in the bonding driver that caused
ARPs to not be properly sent when traffic was not flowing on a bonding
interface. This patch corrects the issue.
