another working configurations I've installed two moth ago
is

Linux cz-linux3.cz.oracle.com 2.6.9-42.0.0.0.1.EL x86_64 GNU/Linux
with
oracle-firewire-modules-2.6.9-42.0.3.EL-1286-1.i686.rpm
