[Firewire-users] linux 2.6.9-55.0.0.0.2.EL cannot see firewire's external drive

Hi Firewire gurus,
Has anybody configured firewire on ORACLE'S enterprise
linux.
I have installed 
Oracle Enterprise linux 2.6.9-55.0.0.0.2.EL kernel on
my desktop pc.
I have downloaded the 
oracle-firewire-modules-2.6.9-42.0.3.0.2.EL-1286-1.i686.rpm
firewire drive and i have installed this using rpm
-ivh.

After rebooting i would expect this to identify the
extenernal drive, But it is not.
Can anybody please help me out on this issue as to
where i am going wrong.
Dmesg does not show anything about the external drive.
[root at linuxtest1 ~]# modprobe -r ohci1394
FATAL: Module ohci1394 not found.
