Oops, I missed this in the last mail.  Yeah, I think that bug  
describes part of what we need to fix to make this device migration  
stuff usable.

In quick testing so far I've seen very long reconnection time and some  
error messages out of rds-ping that don't look right.  I similar  
behaviour when I completely unload and reload the rds stack without  
these device patches, though, so I guess I'd call it a separate issue  
from these patches.
