can't really give specific numbers ;-)
a few things to undestand tho
asm does more than just manage files, it can be set up to do mirroring,
striping, automatically move data around in the backgorund etc. now, it
can do this more intelligently. if yous ay well my storage array does
this.. yeah it does but at recovery after a crash or some such, it
doesn't know specifics. ASM does.
of course it does incur some overhead in doing so, nothing is free...
