INSTALLING THE UPDATES

We recommend that all users of Ksplice Uptrack running Ubuntu 22.04
Jammy install these updates.

On systems that have "autoinstall = yes" in /etc/uptrack/uptrack.conf,
these updates will be installed automatically and you do not need to
take any action.

Alternatively, you can install these updates by running:

# /usr/sbin/uptrack-upgrade -y

DESCRIPTION

* CVE-2022-2586: Use-after-free in Netfilter subsystem.

A logic flaw in the Netfilter subsystem when removing NTF table could
result in use-after-free. A local user could use this flaw to cause
a denial-of-service or code execution.

* CVE-2022-2588: Use-after-free in IP Route Classifier.

A logic flaw in IP Route Classifier subsystem in some cases when
replacing a route filter could lead to a use-after-free. A local user
could use this flaw for denial-of-service or privilege escalation.

* CVE-2022-2585: Use-after-free in POSIX CPU Timers.

A logic flaw in Linux kernel's POSIX CPU Timers when a user creates and
then deletes the timer in the non-leader thread of the program could
lead to a use-after-free. A local user could use this flaw to cause
denial-of-service or privilege escalation.

* Note: Oracle will not be providing a zero downtime update for CVE-2022-29900, CVE-2022-29901, CVE-2022-23816.

CVE-2022-29900, CVE-2022-29901 and CVE-2022-23816 are flaws in the
speculative execution of various processors. This can be used by an
unprivileged attacker to achieve arbitrary speculative code execution
under certain microarchitecture-dependent conditions.
