Synopsis: Ubuntu-2.6.32-24.38 can now be patched using Ksplice

Systems running Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid can now use Ksplice to patch against
the latest Ubuntu kernel update, Ubuntu-2.6.32-24.38.

INSTALLING THE UPDATES

We recommend that all Ksplice Uptrack Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid users install
these updates. You can install these updates by running:

# uptrack-upgrade -y

DESCRIPTION

* NULL pointer dereference in EXT4_IOC_MOVE_EXT ioctl.

If the EXT4_IOC_MOVE_EXT ioctl is called with NULL donor_fd,
double_down_write_data_sem will dereference a NULL pointer, leading to
a denial of service.

* File corruption in ext4 due to wrong extent order.

Under certain circumstanes, the EXT4_IOC_MOVE_EXT ioctl will
erroneously insert a new extent into the first block, resulting in
incorrect extent ordering and thus file curruption.

SUPPORT

Ksplice support is available at support at ksplice.com or +1 765-577-5423.
