Synopsis: FEDORA-2012-15317 can now be patched using Ksplice
Systems running Fedora 17 can now use Ksplice to patch against the
latest Fedora kernel update, FEDORA-2012-15317.
INSTALLING THE UPDATES
We recommend that all users of Ksplice Uptrack on Fedora 17 install
these updates.
On systems that have "autoinstall = yes" in /etc/uptrack/uptrack.conf,
these updates will be installed automatically and you do not need to
take any action.
Alternatively, you can install these updates by running:
# /usr/sbin/uptrack-upgrade -y
DESCRIPTION
* Logic error in NFSv4 server.
A logic error in the NFSv4 server implementation can cause malformed NFS
open requests to be considered valid.
* Use-after-free in Bluetooth SMP.
A use-after-free condition can be triggered when a Bluetooth device
fails pairing using the Security Manager Protocol.
* Kernel hang in device probing.
The kernel can hang when probing devices in parallel on a single
CPU machine.
* NULL pointer dereference on remote control device removal.
Under certain circumstances, removing a USB remote control can cause
the lirc daemon to dereference a NULL pointer leading to a kernel oops.
* NULL pointer dereference in NFS file unlinking.
A NULL pointer dereference can be triggered when a client unlinks a
file on an NFS share.
* Memory corruption in VMware graphics driver.
A heap buffer-overflow can be triggered in the VMware graphics driver
via the VMW_FENCE_EVENT ioctl.
