[Ksplice][EL7-Updates] New Ksplice updates for OL 7, RHEL 7, CentOS 7, and Scientific Linux 7 (ELSA-2025-23947)

Synopsis: ELSA-2025-23947 can now be patched using Ksplice
CVEs: CVE-2022-2978 CVE-2022-43945 CVE-2022-50356 CVE-2023-53178 CVE-2023-53297 CVE-2023-53322 CVE-2025-38729 CVE-2025-39757

Systems running RHCK on Oracle Linux 7, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7,
CentOS 7, and Scientific Linux 7 can now use Ksplice to patch against
the latest Red Hat kernel update, ELSA-2025-23947.

INSTALLING THE UPDATES

We recommend that all users of Ksplice Uptrack running OL 7, RHEL 7,
CentOS 7, and Scientific Linux 7 install these updates.

On systems that have "autoinstall = yes" in /etc/uptrack/uptrack.conf,
these updates will be installed automatically and you do not need to
take any action.

Alternatively, you can install these updates by running:

# /usr/sbin/uptrack-upgrade -y


DESCRIPTION

* CVE-2022-2978: Denial-of-service when initializing inodes.

* CVE-2022-43945: Out-of-bounds memory access in NFSD.

A logic error in NFSD when a small RPC Call message arrives in an
oversized RPC record can lead to a buffer overflow. A remote attacker
could use this flaw for a denial-of-service or privilege escalation.


* CVE-2022-50356: Null pointer dereference in SFB network scheduler.

* CVE-2023-53178: Memory corruption in Compressed cache for swap pages driver.

* CVE-2023-53297: Deadlock in Bluetooth subsystem.

* CVE-2023-53322: Use-after-free in QLogic QLA2XXX Fibre Channel driver.

* CVE-2025-39757, CVE-2025-38729: Out-of-bounds memory access in Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) driver.
