Synopsis: ELSA-2024-4349 can now be patched using Ksplice
CVEs: CVE-2021-47400 CVE-2023-52626 CVE-2024-26854 CVE-2024-27393 CVE-2024-35870 CVE-2024-35974
Users with Oracle Linux Premier Support can now use Ksplice to patch
against the latest Oracle Linux Security Advisory, ELSA-2024-4349.

INSTALLING THE UPDATES
We recommend that all users of Ksplice Uptrack running RHCK 9 install
these updates.
On systems that have "autoinstall = yes" in /etc/uptrack/uptrack.conf,
these updates will be installed automatically and you do not need to
take any action.
Alternatively, you can install these updates by running:
# /usr/sbin/uptrack-upgrade -y
DESCRIPTION
* CVE-2023-52626: Information leak in Mellanox Technologies networking driver.
An operation precedence error when using Mellanox Technologies networking
driver could lead to an out-of-bounds memory read. A local attacker could
use this flaw to extract sensitive information.
* CVE-2024-26854: Denial-of-service in Intel Ethernet Connection E800 Series Support.
A missing variable initialization in Intel Ethernet Connection E800
Series support driver when using PTP clock could lead to a locking
error. A local attacker could use this flaw to cause a
denial-of-service.
* CVE-2024-27393: Denial-of-service in Xen network device frontend driver.
A logic error when using Xen network device frontend driver driver could
lead to a memory leak. A local attacker could use this flaw to cause a
denial-of-service.
* CVE-2024-35870: Denial-of-service in SMB3 and CIFS support.
A race condition when using SMB3 and CIFS support could lead to a use-
after-free. An attacker could use this flaw to cause a denial-of-
service.
* CVE-2024-35974: Data corruption in generic block IO controller.
A missing variable reinitialization in generic block IO controller
cgroup driver when disk rebinding could lead to use of incorrectly
initialized memory. A local attacker could use this flaw to cause
data corruption.
* Note: Oracle has determined that CVE-2021-47400 is not applicable.
The kernel is not affected by CVE-2021-47400
since the code under consideration is not compiled.
