Synopsis: ELBA-2016-3520 can now be patched using Ksplice

Users with Oracle Linux Premier Support can now use Ksplice to patch
against the latest Oracle kernel update, ELBA-2016-3520.

INSTALLING THE UPDATES

We recommend that all users of Ksplice Uptrack on EL 6 install these
updates.

On systems that have "autoinstall = yes" in /etc/uptrack/uptrack.conf,
these updates will be installed automatically and you do not need to
take any action.

Alternatively, you can install these updates by running:

# /usr/sbin/uptrack-upgrade -y

DESCRIPTION

* Invalid memory reference in NFSv4 symlink decoding.

A bug in how the nfsd decoded the data for a symlink operation
could lead to the nfsd code writing to an invalid memory location.

* Multiple kernel crashes in NFSv4.

A number of incorrect kernel assertions in the NFSv4 filesystem client
could be triggered during normal operation, resulting in a kernel crash.

* Kernel crash in Mellanox InfiniHost Context Memory registration.

On systems with a large amount of memory, an integer overflow in the
Mellanox ICM code could result in an invalid pointer dereference and
kernel crash.

SUPPORT

Ksplice support is available at ksplice-support_ww at oracle.com.
