Synopsis: ELBA-2015-3082 can now be patched using Ksplice

Users with Oracle Linux Premier Support can now use Ksplice to patch
against the latest Oracle kernel update, ELBA-2015-3082.

INSTALLING THE UPDATES

We recommend that all users of Ksplice Uptrack on EL 5 install these
updates.

On systems that have "autoinstall = yes" in /etc/uptrack/uptrack.conf,
these updates will be installed automatically and you do not need to
take any action.

Alternatively, you can install these updates by running:

# /usr/sbin/uptrack-upgrade -y

DESCRIPTION

* Deadlock when calling chmod() on OCFS2 cluster.

Incorrect locking in the OCFS2 filesystem could in certain cases
deadlock when used in a cluster. A malicious local user with access
to the filesystem could use this to cause denial of service.

* Re-check Xen block device features on migration.

Migrating to a host that doesn't support persistent features from a host
that does will cause warnings in the kernel event log.

* Correctly handle REQ_FUA in Xen block device.

The handling of unsupported REQ_FUA and REQ_FLUSH in the Xen block
device was
incorrect.

SUPPORT

Ksplice support is available at ksplice-support_ww at oracle.com.
