Synopsis: ELBA-2013-2579 can now be patched using Ksplice
Users with Oracle Linux Premier Support can now use Ksplice to patch
against the latest Oracle kernel update, ELBA-2013-2579.
INSTALLING THE UPDATES
We recommend that all users of Ksplice Uptrack on EL 5 install these
updates.
On systems that have "autoinstall = yes" in /etc/uptrack/uptrack.conf,
these updates will be installed automatically and you do not need to
take any action.
Alternatively, you can install these updates by running:
# /usr/sbin/uptrack-upgrade -y
DESCRIPTION
* Deadlock in software RAID subsystem.
Fix a deadlock in the software RAID subsystem caused by attempting
recurse back into the request queue.
* Incorrect audit messages with no security module enabled.
Incorrect error checking could result in an erroneous error message
causing auditd to panic the system under strict security guidelines.
* Race condition in kdump on panic.
A race condition in the panic handler could cause kdump to fail. This
would make it impossible to collect a coredump and diagnose the original
failure.
SUPPORT
