I made my comments six hours after the patch has landed in my inbox. So 
I assume you either committed it before sending to the list, or 
committed it following some out-of-band discussion.

Both options are somehow unacceptable when running open-source project 
and this holds even if you were the project maintainer: first, since 
your change-log did not meet requirement #3 among those stated by Roland 
during his SC07 devcon presentation:

1) what is the change you are making
2) how you are making that change
3) why do we want that change

second, say you have the credit in the RDS community to lead on such 
patch, I made comments which you totally ignore, so what kind of 
leadership is this if you can not address or simply ignore comments you 
get from developers?!
