Oracle VM Bug Fix Advisory OVMBA-2012-0012

Oracle VM 3.0.3 Manager patch is available at http://support.oracle.com
(reference patch number 13614645).

This patch update also includes the bug fixes integrated in the
previous patch release. Please review the README for a complete
list of bug fixes as well as the instructions to apply the patch
update.

Description of Changes:

13942068 - NO ROLLBACK BEHAVIOR FOR JOB OPERATION
This errata fixes a rare condition when job operations were
cleared out too early before the job ran into rollback, thus
there is no rollback behavior for certain job operations. Now
job operations are cleared out after rolling back the
transaction.

13936599 - ORACLE VM MANAGER JOBS RUNNING IN PARALLEL WITH
ORACLE LINUX 5.6 OR NEWER PARAVIRUTALIZED DRIVERS MAY RESULT
IN JOBS HANGING.
This errata fixes a rare condition that when executing
multiple Oracle VM Manager jobs running in parallel, and using
Oracle Linux guests with the Oracle Linux 5.6 and the
2.6.32-200.21.1.el5uek kernel (or newer) drivers, all Manager
jobs may hang (fail to complete).

13888735 - JOB FAILS DUE TO LOCK EXCEPTION AFTER JOB IS
COMMITTED
Under rare situations, jobs may fail with a lock exception.
This issue is now fixed where Oracle VM Manager clears job
assets right before the commit / rollback.

13846015 - NULL POINTER EXCEPTION IN JOB ENGINES
In some rare situations the issue appeared when importing
assemblies with Oracle Virtual Assembly Builder. This issue is
now fixed where Oracle VM Manager can avoid null pointer
exception (NPE) in job engine if current job operation is
null.

13794266 - VNC CONSOLE DISCONNECTS ON GUEST STARTUP/REBOOT
Guest console was disconnected when guest was rebooting. This
issue is now fixed and console remains connected even through
reboots

13785939 - UNABLE TO LIVE MIGRATE VMS ON UNTAGGED VLANS
Could not perform live migration if management network was
using untagged VLAN and used for live migration as well. This
issue is now fixed.

13771722 - AN OPEN VM CONSOLE IS LOCKED UP BY A USER
If a console was opened by a user, another user could not open
the console until the first user closed the console. The issue
is now fixed and you can take over control of the virtual
machine console when it's locked by another user.

13714352 - OVM3.0 OVMAPI_2007E FIND OBJECT NAME RETURNED
NULL WHEN TRYING TO DELETE GUEST
Receive the OVMAPI_2007E exception when deleting the VM. The
issue is fixed by removing the exception, then log a warning
and let the transaction continue.

13704822 - UPGRADE:EMPTY EDIT VIRTUAL DISK WINDOW
Experience empty edit virtual disk window when Oracle VM
Manager is upgraded from 3.0.2. The issue is now fixed.

13696121 - OCFS2 REPOSITORY WAS INCORRECTLY DELETED WHEN A
SERVER WAS DELETED IN THE MANAGER
When deleting a server, it deletes the local file server
object, which then deletes its file system objects. The issue
is now fixed so that the OCFS2 file system object (not the
file system on the disk) will only be deleted if the file
server is the last file server owning it.

13688010 - MIGRATION FAILURE RESULTS IN MISMATCH BETWEEN
ACTUAL VM LOCATION AND LOCATION DISPLAYED IN THE UI.
Failure to live migrate under certain condition could cause
the server and the manager to go out of synch and manager to
show the VM on wrong server. The issue is now fixed so that
the VM is placed on the correct server and its status is
correct after a migration failure.

13624133 - UPGRADE TO 3.0.3 GETS INDEXOUTOFBOUNDSEXCEPTION
DURING DATA TRANSFORM
Under certain situation the upgrade would fail with
indexoutofbound exception when Oracle VM Manager 3.0.2 is
being upgraded to 3.0.3. The issue is now fixed.

13529687 - OCFS2 REPO SIZE IS NOT UPDATED WHEN REPO IS
REFRESHED
Now we can use the refresh repo button to refresh the
repository size.
