[Oracleasm-users] asmlib on opteron amd64 with 32 Bit RHAS3.0 Upd. 2 Linux Kernel

Hi asmlib Gurus,

I am trying to install asmlib on opteron amd64 with 
32 Bit RHAS3.0 Upd. 2 Linux Kernel. I do not have the
64 Bit Version of RHAS3.0 (very expensive) and i would even
not be able to use it to try asm with Oracle 10g
(10g Release for AMD Opteron on Linux will be released later
by Oracle - now only 9.2.0.4 is available).


I used the rpm packages from
http://otn.oracle.com/tech/linux/asmlib/index.html

Files: oracleasmlib-1.0.0-1.i386.rpm
       oracleasm-support-1.0.2-1.i386.rpm
       oracleasm-2.4.21-EL-smp-1.0.0-1.i686.rpm

uname -r 
2.4.21-15.ELsmp

It is a 2 Processor Opteron Sun V20z

The rpm Packages installed without any problems or failure
messages.

When I do: /etc/init.d/oracleasm configure than I get:

oracleasm: Unable to load the ASMlib driver module at the end
of the script.

When i load it by hand:

insmod /lib/modules/2.4.21-EL-smp-ABI/oracleasm/oracleasm.o
i get the following error message:

Normaly the Opteron should behave in 32 Bit Linux Mode like an i686
