<HTML><P><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Hi,</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>I am trying to get familure with OCFS and RAC...etc.<BR>So I went ahead and started to test out.using Vmware,<BR>I tried to install RHEL3 and OCFSv1 with no luck it keeps giving<BR>me errors (while doing rpm -Uvh).</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Since my main interest is EL4.0 I went ahead and installed RHEL4.0 on vmware<BR>and downloaded the support,tools and the OCFS2 rpms from the site.<BR>(single processor, normal kernel...etc)</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>i tried to manually install them and the rpm manager gave me the error:<BR>error: can't create transaction lock.<BR>I clicked on the rpm files and they installed normally with the redhat package manager! (this is strange!)</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>So my question now, what is next? what needs to be done.<BR>i can't find a good step by step document that tells a new person on what to do!</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Please note that I am running vmware, which means no physical HD, i have done the virtual<BR>HD to be 1 gig swap, and 9 gig for the / (root).</FONT></P>
