[Ksplice][Ubuntu 9.10 Updates] New updates available via Ksplice (Ubuntu-2.6.31-21.59)

Synopsis: Ubuntu-2.6.31-21.59 can now be patched using Ksplice

Systems running Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic can now use Ksplice to patch against 
the latest Ubuntu Karmic kernel update, Ubuntu-2.6.31-21.59.

INSTALLING THE UPDATES

We recommend that all Ksplice Uptrack Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic users install
these updates.  You can install these updates by running:

# uptrack-upgrade -y


DESCRIPTION

* Oops in CIFS while chasing DFS referrals.

A programming error in the CIFS subsystem could lead to a kernel oops
while chasing DFS referrals at mount time.


* ESSID buffer overflow in the Libertas driver.

A buffer overflow in the Libertas wireless driver could lead to memory
corruption while associating to a network with a long ESSID.


* Double-free in e100 driver.

A programming error in the e100 network driver could lead to memory
corruption due to double-freeing a buffer.


* BUG with ext4 quotas.

Incorrect use of spinlocks in ext4_da_reserve_space could lead to a
kernel BUG while handling ext4 quotas.


* Out-of-bounds read in nf_conntrack_ftp.

An out-of-bounds read of an array in the nf_conntrack_ftp module could
lead to a kernel oops.
