[Ksplice][Ubuntu-20.04-Updates] New Ksplice updates for Ubuntu 20.04 Focal (USN-6387-1)

Synopsis: USN-6387-1 can now be patched using Ksplice
CVEs: CVE-2023-20588 CVE-2023-40283 CVE-2023-4128 CVE-2023-4207

Systems running Ubuntu 20.04 Focal can now use Ksplice to patch
against the latest Ubuntu Security Notice, USN-6387-1.

INSTALLING THE UPDATES

We recommend that all users of Ksplice Uptrack running Ubuntu 20.04
Focal install these updates.

On systems that have "autoinstall = yes" in /etc/uptrack/uptrack.conf,
these updates will be installed automatically and you do not need to
take any action.

Alternatively, you can install these updates by running:

# /usr/sbin/uptrack-upgrade -y


DESCRIPTION

* CVE-2023-4128, CVE-2023-4207: Use-after-free in netfilter classifiers.

Incorrectly copied structures in multiple netfilter classifiers can lead
to a use-after-free when updating a filter bound to a class. An attacker
could use this flaw for privilege escalation or cause a
denial-of-service.


* CVE-2023-40283: Use-after-free during Bluetooth socket teardown.

An incomplete cleanup operation when tearing down Bluetooth L2CAP
sockets can lead to a use-after-free.  This flaw could potentially be
exploited to cause a denial-of-service or other unexpected behavior.


* CVE-2023-20588: Information disclosure on AMD CPUs.

A hardware flaw on some AMD processors when handling division-by-zero
errors may result in speculative data exposure. An attacker could use this
flaw to access sensitive information.
