Synopsis: 4.13.0-16.19 can now be patched using Ksplice
CVEs: CVE-2017-5123
Systems running Ubuntu 17.10 Artful can now use Ksplice to patch
against the latest Ubuntu kernel update, 4.13.0-16.19.
INSTALLING THE UPDATES
We recommend that all users of Ksplice Uptrack running Ubuntu 17.10
Artful install these updates.
On systems that have "autoinstall = yes" in /etc/uptrack/uptrack.conf,
these updates will be installed automatically and you do not need to
take any action.
Alternatively, you can install these updates by running:
# /usr/sbin/uptrack-upgrade -y
DESCRIPTION
* CVE-2017-5123: Privilege escalation using waitid() system call.
A missing check on user input in waitid() system call could lead to an
unauthorized access. A local attacker could use this flaw to write
kernel memory and escalate privileges.
