Systems running RHCK on Oracle Linux 6, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6,
CentOS 6, and Scientific Linux 6 can now use Ksplice to patch against
the latest Red Hat Security Advisory, RHSA-2017:0036-01.

INSTALLING THE UPDATES

We recommend that all users of Ksplice Uptrack running OL 6, RHEL 6,
CentOS 6, and Scientific Linux 6 install these updates.

On systems that have "autoinstall = yes" in /etc/uptrack/uptrack.conf,
these updates will be installed automatically and you do not need to
take any action.

Alternatively, you can install these updates by running:

# /usr/sbin/uptrack-upgrade -y

DESCRIPTION

* CVE-2016-6828: Use after free during TCP transmission.

A logic error when a memory allocation fails during TCP transmission can
cause the kernel TCP stack to use freed memory causing a kernel panic.

* CVE-2016-7117: Denial-of-service in recvmmsg() error handling.

Incorrect reference counting could result in a use-after-free in the
recvmmsg() system call. A local, unprivileged user could use this flaw
to trigger a denial-of-service.

* CVE-2016-4997, CVE-2016-4998: Privilege escalation in the Netfilter driver.

Incomplete input validation when processing Netfilter xtables entries could
lead to out of bounds memory read and write. An unprivileged user inside a
container could use this flaw to cause a denial-of-service or elevate
privileges.
