Synopsis: RHBA-2015-1827 can now be patched using Ksplice

Systems running RHCK on Oracle Linux 6, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6,
CentOS 6, and Scientific Linux 6 can now use Ksplice to patch against
the latest Red Hat Bug Fix Advisory, RHBA-2015-1827.

INSTALLING THE UPDATES

We recommend that all users of Ksplice Uptrack on OL 6, RHEL 6, CentOS
6, and Scientific Linux 6 install these updates.

On systems that have "autoinstall = yes" in /etc/uptrack/uptrack.conf,
these updates will be installed automatically and you do not need to
take any action.

Alternatively, you can install these updates by running:

# /usr/sbin/uptrack-upgrade -y

DESCRIPTION

* Kernel panic in vmxnet3 network driver fragmented packet handling.

The vmxnet3 driver used rx descriptor count for the napi poll budget. This
allowed to return from napi poll halfway through recieving a fragmented packet
if the budget threshold was reached. This behavior caused a kernel panic if
previous napi poll ended with skb allocation failure and the end of packet was
not reached.

SUPPORT

Ksplice support is available at ksplice-support_ww at oracle.com.
