Synopsis: 2.6.32-458.6.2.lve1.2.28.1 can now be patched using Ksplice
CVEs: CVE-2013-2224
Systems running CloudLinux 6 can now use Ksplice to patch against the
latest CloudLinux 6 kernel update, 2.6.32-458.6.2.lve1.2.28.1.
INSTALLING THE UPDATES
We recommend that all users of Ksplice Uptrack on CloudLinux 6 install
these updates.
On systems that have "autoinstall = yes" in /etc/uptrack/uptrack.conf,
these updates will be installed automatically and you do not need to
take any action.
Alternatively, you can install these updates by running:
# /usr/sbin/uptrack-upgrade -y
DESCRIPTION
* Denial of service in try_to_release_page().
An incomplete check could cause try_to_release_page() to be called for
swap-backed pages which results in a kernel BUG. This could be exploited
by a local user to cause a denial of service.
* Kernel crash in nested process ID namespaces.
Incorrect mounting of the proc filesystem in nested process ID
namespaces could result in a kernel crash.
* Kernel crash in ext4 subsystem on ploop resize.
Incorrect handling of low resource counts could result in a kernel crash
when resizing a ploop device.
* CVE-2013-2224: Denial of service in sendmsg().
An invalid free used while sending a message with the sendmsg(2) call with
IP_RETOPTS set could lead to a kernel crash. This could be exploited by a
malicious user to cause a denial of service or possibly allow arbitrary code
execution.
