Our community partners from Amazon are starting a new project to add the Shenandoah/Generational-Shenandoah GC to Native Image.</span><span><br>

</span><span><br>

</span><span>This project will build on the existing GC infrastructure in Native Image. Shenandoah will be compiled as a static library and linked into the final native image where it will be used through SubstrateVM's GC interface.</span>

<div><span>Initial support will target Linux/amd64 and Linux/aarch64, with the potential to add more platforms in the future.</span><span><br>

<div><span>We are excited about this contribution from our community and the benefits it will bring to GraalVM users, from improved performance characteristics to greater flexibility for their GraalVM deployments.</span><span><br>
