Is there a broader problem to solve here?  Other places where this same 
mistake is made?  (I did a quick look and didn't notice any.)

Also, both tests should have .r files.  A problem with err.* tests is 
that there are too many ways for something to fail, but the only way the 
test should pass is if the particular failure mode is observed.  This is 
easily handled by routinely adding .r files.
