... I thought there was a patch missing, because there's nothing to *do*
anything with the ranges, but of course we don't need that any more --
dtrace userspace will do it.

You might want another patch to add something to the top-level makefile
to install this to the INSTALL_MOD_PATH upon a make modules_install, to
make it clear that (like all the other module-related things installed
for use by modprobe) this is meant for userspace consumption. (The CTF
patch should show what to do.)
