With regards to #5 (How to get an ODBC or JDBC driver):<br>

<li>Sandra, the ODBC and JDBC drivers are not included in the initial
Beta release package, but they are supported and they will be included
in the production release. In order to build the drivers, please
download the open source ODBC driver from <a

and the open source JDBC driver from <a

that they are going to need the JDBC driver. Right?</li>

Sandra, did you hear back from Brian, Joe or Kent about the ADF
questions? <br>

Michael, Alex, et. al., is there anything that Sandra or Gempi need to
know about downloading and using the ODBC/JDBC driver? For example, can
they just download and use the binary driver or do they need to
download the source tree and build it from scratch against the BDB
library? <br>

You need to involve the ADF team in this, they are going to be critical because our team doesn't know much about ADF. Dave knows the right people to call/email.
1. I don’t think we built a binary installer for 5.0.6 (a .msi file), we should consider this for future beta drops... So, the answer is YES you do have to build from source. This requires Visual Studio C++, you can use the free Express version available from Microsoft.com
2. I'm fairly sure, although I don't know how ADF works, that Louis is wrong to think he needs a Java .JAR file. We need to check with the ADF team. If he does need it he can find it with the other files he builds in build_windows. Of course he'll need a modern (1.5 or 1.6) Java JDK installed to build the Java files.
3. I would hope (I've not checked recently) that there are build targets in Visual Studio that you can choose which build BDB and SQL(ite).
4. Again, a question for the ADF team but my *guess* is that because the ADF components support SQLite we're just fine here.
5. Wow, this is interesting. We will be shipping a JDBC and ODBC driver with the final package but it's not in the beta package... Dave?! Ideas? In addition I question the need for the Java JDBC driver. Maybe all he needs is the ODBC driver?
I'm glad we're having a beta, we have a few things to fix/document.

I've started looking at the 6 questions from Luis Paolini. Do you have
any information about his questions on Oracle Oracle ADF (which looks
like Oracle Application Development Server) and JDBC or where I might
find out more. To recap the questions are:
1.Is necessary to build the BDB source files? I’ve seen a DotNet
project
in the folder \build_windows.
2.How to get the BDB jar file?
3.How to configure BDB to support SQL? I read about a configuration
script but just found a version for Unix.
4.The SQLite data types are supported by Oracle ADF?
5. I’ve checked the documentation and found no information about JDBC
access to the database. Are there any documentations about this topic?
This is the entry point for ADF Business Components creation.
6.Are there any examples using BDB SQLite Interfaces?

I just checked and as far as I can tell, BDB needs to be built from
source. I have only built this on Linux, but I'm giving Windows a try
now. Are we providing a pre-built BDB for DotNet? Or a pre-built
BDB.jar file if that is what the second question is asking?
I do know where the examples using the BDB SQLite interfaces are
though.
